Ranthambore Jungle Safari

Ranthambore Jungle Safari is a way of exploring the wild area of Ranthambore National Park. You can explore the area on safaris that are offered by the Forest Department of Rajasthan to promote tourism in the area. Ranthambore Jungle Safari offers a thrilling chance to explore the wild area on wheels with a guide and a driver. The Safaris are done by gypsies and canters that will take you inside the park and there you can spot wild animals from close.

This park has a huge area of 1,334 square kilometers and that area is divided into 10 different zones. Every zone of the park offers different sightings of wild animals and people like to come here for this experience. You can go inside these zones on different safari rides. Let’s know further details about booking this experience.

Types of Safari

There are two types of safaris in the wild Ranthambore National Park that allow you to explore the park. Gypsy and Canter are there on which you can explore the area.

Gypsy Safari

Gypsy Safari Overview

These are 4-wheeler gypsy that are open from all sides. The gypsy will take you deep inside the park to explore the rich variety of flora and fauna. These safaris offer a closer view of animals. These are short vehicles and they can easily go on the small routes of the jungle and they are open from all sides. Many people choose gypsy safari for their thrilling and adventurous exploration.

In total, 88 gypsies can go inside the park at a time in all zones. It means that 88 gypsies are allowed for the morning shift and 88 gypsies are allowed for the evening shift. Out of 88 gypsies, 58 gypsies can be booked in advance and the remaining 20 gypsies are for Tatkal booking. Out of 20, 5 gypsies are for special category quota and 5 gypsies are for full day / half day safari.

6 passengers can go inside a gypsy, which means 1 gypsy can be booked for 6 people and 2 seats are there for the guide and driver (children below 5 can go without a seat). The gypsy safaris are booked on a sharing basis, for example, if you’re 4 people then 4 seats will be booked for you, and the other 2 seats will get booked for other people. However, if you want to book an entire gypsy for just 4 then it can also be done but you have to pay the full amount of the gypsy safari.

Gypsy safaris get booked easily before the safari dates, so to avoid future disappointments, it is recommended to book a safari in advance.

Canter Safari

Canter Safari Overview

These are also 4-wheelers, but they are buses. These are other types of safari that will take you deep inside the park to explore the rich variety of flora and fauna. These safaris offer a nice view of animals even from a distance because they are higher in height than a gypsy safari. Canters are open from all sides so that people can explore the park without any disturbance. These Canter are great for people who are coming in large groups and also these are budget-friendly. Canters are permitted for every zone except zones 7 and 8.

In total, 52 canter can go inside the Ranthambore National Park at a particular shift. It means that 52 Canter Safaris are allowed for the morning shift and 52 are allowed for the evening shift.

20 passengers can go inside a canter, which means 1 canter can be booked for 20 people and 2 seats are there for the guide and driver. The guide and driver sit in the front seat and the other 20 members sit in the back. Canter Safaris are booked on a sharing basis. If you’re coming in big groups then booking a Canter would be the best option for you.

The Ranthambore National Park online safari booking for Canter is done on a first-come, first-served basis and you must have to pay the full amount of your seat in advance for the Ranthambore Safari booking.
